Chromablast Transfer Printers
Chromablast was developed by Sawgrass to produce high quality transfer prints for white and light coloured cotton garments. It's a simple process:
- Open the image in any program then print onto Chromablast transfer paper (A4 or A3)
- Place onto a white garment and press for approx 35 seconds at 190 deg C
- Peel the transfer paper whilst still hot then stretch the image in both directions to reduce the hand
What makes Chromablast different to other transfer prints?
The unique Chromablast chemistry developed by Sawgrass produces a chemical bond between the ink and cotton fibres, but only where there is transfer film present. Small areas of transfer film without ink will soften and wash out during normal laundering leaving an impressive, high quality print that is soft to the touch.
Note: Chromablast can be used on light coloured garments too but it should be noted that print colours may be affected by the colour of the fabric. For example: Pale blue prints on a yellow garment may appear to have a Greenish hue.
It may also be necessary to trim off the transfer paper from around the image. This can be done by hand or much more quickly and accurately if you have an automatic cutter like the Roland Stika or GS-24
NEW - Chromablast is now available for Sawgrass Virtuoso SG-400 & SG-800 printers
