WIMS - White ink management system
Once you have used DTG with WIMS, you'will never want to use a machine without it again. So what does WIMS do?

  • WIMS gently stirs the ink in the bulk ink tank so it doesn't settle.

  • WIMS pumps the ink to the print head and back again in a continuopus loop

  • WIMS filters the ink over and over again to remove even the tiniest particles of dust or contamination.

  • WIMS pumps ink to the print head under pressure so ink starvation is eliminated

Unlike screen printing which requires a lengthy set-up process, Kiosk direct-to-garment printers allow you to print images from your digital camera or graphics program in just minutes.

If you need to edit the image first then of course you can do whatever you need to do using programs like Adobe Photoshop, Corel Photopaint Etc. OR you simply open the image in Print Pro (included with the Kiosk), set the finished size and orientation and you can begin printing almost immediately.

The Advantages Of Direct To garment, Digital Printing

Do I need to know how to use graphic design software to use Kiosk?
Well the answer is No you don't - but you will get better results and you will be able to provide a more professional service if you can.

You can download an image from your digital camera then open it in the Print PRO program then print it directly onto a garment. It's that easy. However, the truth is that rectangular photographic images alone can look a little but ordinary if printed just as they are. They can be made to look much more interesting with just a little editing.

You might use an image editing program to make one or more of the following changes to an image:

  • Change the size and the resolution of the image

  • Change the contrast and/or brightness

  • Delete areas of the image which you don't want to be printed

  • Add a border

  • Add text to the image

  • Combine more than one image

What else do I have to do?
Printing an image onto a shirt requires the following steps:

  • Prepare the image for printing

  • Pre-treat the garment with White ink pre-treatment (black & coloured shirts only)

  • Dry the pre-treated shirt (preferably using a T-shirt press)

  • Print the image onto the garment

  • Dry/Cure the printed image in a T shirt press or drying tunnel

How many prints can I produce
Well, that depends upon the size of the image and whether or not you are printing a White garment or a coloured garment.

A 5cm x 5cm image printed onto a White garment might take well under a minute to print whereas a large full colour image printed onto a Black garment could take 7 to 8 minutes including the white ink layer.

When you consider the very low cost of a T-shirt and the potential retail price for small volume printed shirts . . . . there are very healthy profit margins indeed.
