Pierrot's barbed needles gently tease out the fibres & push them through to the back of the base fabric, fastening the decorative yarn or fabric onto the base fabric.
You choose how little or how much each piece is felted into the base fabric.
You can also create wonderful effects by felting a patterned piece of fabric onto a garment from the reverse side of the garment. The more you run over the patterned fabric - the more it's pattern begins to appear on the top surface of the garment.
Close-up of pierrot's needles and excellent eye/finger guard
Pierrot has a clear, full length eye & finger guard which protects the user during normal use and in the unlikely event of a needle break.

Felt fabrics, yarns or loose fibres (note: for this image only, the clear, eye guard has been removed so that the needles can be seen)
This simple design of a flower took only minutes to create using both yarn and loose acrylic fibres.
Apply decorative yarn or fabric to the top surface or apply it to the reverse side and watch as the pattern of the decorative fabric starts to appear on the top surface of the base fabric.
Loose Acrylic fibre and yarn
Loose acrylic fibres were spread out then felted with pierrot. The edges were then trimmed with scissors and finished off with yarn.
Reverse felting (back of fabric)
This technique is simply a matter of applying a piece of fabric or yarn to the reverse side. As you felt with Pierrot, the fibres begin to appear on the top side of the fabric. If you are using a patterned fabric, you can even see the pattern begin to appear on the top side.
Reverse felting (front of fabric)
Here you can see the effect of reverse felting on the top side of the fabric. Even the pattern from the felted fabric is beginning to show through on the top side of the fabric.
