Corel Draw and Corel Photo-paint are both very powerful graphics programs that are an absolute gold-mine for any garment decorator.

If you have Wilcom Deco studio or Embroidery studio the you already have Corel.

If not, it is definitely worth consideration because it has many more tools and capabilities than most of us will ever use and yet it costs much less than you would pay for other popular graphics programs like Illustrator or Photoshop.

When you purchase Corel Draw you also get Corel Photopaint

How frustrating is it when you know what you want to do but you just don’t know how to do it because you’ve never had any training?

Well you’re not alone. Many embroidery business owners and others who use Corel for dye sublimation printing and/or promotional product printing have told me that knowing how to use Corel would be a major benefit to their business.

This will not be a typical Corel Draw training course. We won’t take up your valuable time on things that you don’t need to know or that you can easily do in your own time.

This is Corel Draw and Photo-paint designed especially for Garment Decorators.

Now, for those who might not have used Corel before - Don’t worry! You won’t be left behind!

We will cover the basics of using Corel so you will become familiar with the tools and menus but then we will be focussing particularly upon the tools and techniques that we know you will need and use in your garment decoration business.

Corel Draw - what you will learn

  • Opening a new workspace - setting the page size, colour space, rendering resolution

  • Getting to know your way around the menus and toolbars

  • Corel native format .CDR files - the benefits

  • Importing PDF’s, vector files and bitmaps into Corel Draw – what can go wrong?

  • Using auto-trace to convert bitmap image – what works and what doesn’t

Corel Photopaint

  • How to remove background colour from images for DTG and laser printing with white

  • How to improve areas of low quality, uneven colour

  • How can I print colours with confidence – knowing that they will print how I expect them to.

  • Re-sampling images at different sizes and with different quality

  • Saving designs in other formats. Which formats are best and why?
