Beautiful colour blends using just Silver thread
With Rainbow colour transfer paper you can produce beautiful colour blends on embroidery using only silver or white thread or directly onto fabric. The colour is transfered directly onto the thread or fabric by heat, applied with a standard household iron which you might use for pressing clothes.
Step 1.
Hoop up the fabric using Mac-1 tearaway embroidery backing on top of the fabric. Take care to leave plenty of Mac-1 on all sides of the embroidery. Now embroider the design using a good quality metallic embroidery thread such as King Star. Note: other colours of thread can be mixed with the metallic as can be seen in the butterfly design.
Step 2.
Remove finished embroidery from the hoop. Now place colour transfer paper (coloured side down) onto the embroidery and press with a hot iron taking care not to move the transfer paper during this process.
IMPORTANT
Steam irons have holes and/or grooves in the bottom of the plate. Colour will not be transfered well where these holes or grooves are so make sure that you move the iron around whilst applying heat to avoid White or light patches.
Step 3 & 4.
Peel off the transfer paper and remove the Mac-1 leaving a beautiful colour blend.
Sample (letter A)
Rainbow paper colour blend is approx. 150mm from one side to the other. By careful placement of the paper on top of the embroidery you can create different blend colours.
You can also re-position the paper more than once on the same embroidery to create really great effects.
Sample (Northern Territory logo)
This design was done in two steps:
1. Embroider the large fill area in silver
2. Remove hoop from machine & apply Rainbow paper effect
3. Replace hoop and embroider Silver sun and Blue bird
I used to think that one embroidery machine was pretty much like another but I'm just blown away with my new Barudan Elite. It's so fast, hardly ever..
